As mentioned in my previous post, it was a busy summer. July came very quickly and with it came our newest editions to the family. Everyone meet Lightning Bug or LB as we call her. She is a registered half Andalusian half welsh pony filly. She is absolutely stunning and sweet as can be!
LB is our second foal out of Firefly (her mom). Her first foal we have as well, her name is Junebug and her and LB share the same sweet puppy dog personality. LB will be with us until she is weaned and then will be going to her new home. Originally we had planned on keeping her but Jordan Surprised me and purchased my long time dream horse, a gypsy vanner. Unfortunately I cannot keep them all and LB has an amazing home waiting for her! Below is a picture of LB before she left for her new home.
As I mentioned, Jordan suprised me with a gypsy vanner, though she is not a purebred she is half and it definitely shows! We also have her mother with us until Moonshine is weaned, though it sounds like my mother in law might purchase her mom so she will most likely be staying with us. Moonshine is not as puppy dog like as LB was but we are working on it and she is getting friendlier and more used to use as the days go by. She definitely is more stubborn than I expected but I see a lot of similarities between her and myself. I am hoping she will turn out to be an amazing partner for me as she gets older. But for now we are taking things slow and doing everything right to give her the best start.
